Higher Education

We believe that all young people should receive the education, training and support they need to reach their full potential.

We provide bursaries that help young people who would otherwise struggle to continue in higher education. Our workshops and events with industry experts explain the pathways into different careers. We also run projects that engage students in activities that develop relevant skills for their future careers and help them to develop their portfolios to show potential employers.

Our flagship Building Futures programme provides a model for how we can support young people on their journey to qualify in different subjects and for different professions.

Without this bursary I would not have been able to go on field trips abroad and would have struggled to pay for modelling materials, printing costs and computer software resulting in a more difficult university experience and a portfolio that would not have reflected the true extent of my academic abilities but my financial hardship.

Building Futures

Inspired by Stephen Lawrence’s dream of becoming an architect, our Building Futures programme supports young people of diverse ethnic heritage and under-represented groups to study and qualify as architects.

The programme works with over 50 architecture practices and others in the built environment to provide students with financial support, mentoring, workshops, and peer networking, all designed to help them succeed.

Past alumni continue to stay in touch and benefit from our support through our network, online workshops and unique partnership with recruitment specialist urban.
