This year we have focused on providing sixth form students with the knowledge on how to take the steps to reach their career goals. To do this we have provided work-place visits, as well as partnering with Barclays to support 600 under-represented young people across the UK with career planning and employability skills development.

On Friday 2nd December, the Love, Sex, Life team in collaboration with Red Ribbon Living Well CIC hosted a packed and impactful event following World Aids Day, Health Inequalities: HIV Prevention. The purpose of the event was to reduce stigma to those living with and impacted by HIV by providing a greater understanding of the illness, and to share stories through commemoration of those lost, and celebration of those who have survived. Forty years looking to the past, the present, and exploring the future.

Well…these are all the hats that Tim Jeffery wears, but who is he? A well-travelled architect, Tim worked in Hong Kong as a Design Director for many years before returning to the UK to set up his own practice in 1997. Tim is now one of our Your Space members, this is his story…

Career dreams start young. That is why in September we introduced Pathways to Professions for primary schools. By introducing 10- and 11-year-olds to the opportunities available to them, we are able to help them understand and develop their soft skills from a young age. Nearing the end of our programme we have successfully worked with an astounding 120 students across 5 different primary schools within the UK.

Situated in Deptford, the co-working space is a stone throw away from Deptford high-street, which has recently been named as one of the coolest streets in the world, alongside roads in Mexico City and San Francisco – exciting right?
