One year on from the tragic death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter protests (all amid the pandemic) a great deal has changed, yet more needs to be done to meaningfully improve the life chances of under-represented young people and communities.
Blueprint for All received unprecedented support after the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, transforming our work and the impact we have. Yet our recent research with 500 young people revealed that those from disadvantaged backgrounds are still being disproportionately affected by the effects on the pandemic.
It has therefore never been more important to work towards a better future for the next generation of talented young people who currently face even more barriers to education, employment, and building a career.
Sonia Watson, CEO, Blueprint for All said, “Our mission is to create a fairer society and we recognise to make that a reality everyone needs to do their part. And, while our small charity was transformed by the generosity of individuals and organisations determined to make a difference as a result of the Black Lives Matter protests, we are clear there is more to be done. That is why we felt compelled to create these resources to help more people join our journey. We have had an incredible response so far and are thrilled our materials have already reached several million people via social media, our supporters, and partners. Thank you to everyone who has already supported us by sharing and donating.”
