At Blueprint for All, we are grateful to work alongside fantastic partners who have committed to taking the journey towards creating a more inclusive society with us. This World Health Day, we’re shining a light on one our newest corporate partners, Abel & Cole, who have been delivering the best of the organic world from farmers, makers and bakers since 1988.

Abel & Cole are on a mission to get everyone, everywhere eating organically and ethically. Organic farming is a conscientious way of tending to the land, which is not only better for the environment, but tastes better, is healthier, and supports local communities and farmers.

Ahead of World Health Day, we caught up with Abel & Cole’s Charity & Sustainability Champion, Jess Defer, to find out what led the organisation to support the work that Blueprint for All are doing, and what they hope to gain from this partnership.

What attracted Abel & Cole to support Blueprint for All?

What stands out about Blueprint for All is its’ focus on inspiring and nurturing talent through the work they do with disadvantaged young people, which in the longer term will help drive more diversity and inclusivity in the workforce.

Why is a relationship with Blueprint for All so important to Abel & Cole?

This work with young people is something Abel & Cole are passionate about driving forwards and one of the reasons we are so keen to work with Blueprint for All. We also wanted to support a charity where we could get actively involved as an organisation, from mentoring to hosting workplace visits.

This partnership will give all of us in the Abel & Cole team an expert organisation to turn to for guidance when we challenge ourselves to improve diversity and representation.

How has your organisation chosen to support us?

The pandemic may mean uncertain times, and whilst we’ve thus far made monetary donations, we are also looking to the future where we can share our industry knowledge and resources to help inspire and support Blueprint for All’s programme beneficiaries.

What sort of effect do you think partnering and supporting Blueprint for All will have on your staff, stakeholders, and customers?

This partnership will give all of us in the Abel & Cole team an expert organisation to turn to for guidance when we challenge ourselves to improve diversity and representation. The fantastic programmes organised by Blueprint for All will also be an opportunity for our staff to get involved with volunteering, as each member of staff has a paid volunteer day per year. Finally, by organising fundraising activities involving our customers, we can promote the work that Blueprint for All does and give our customers an easy way to support this important work.

Abel & Cole’s partnership with Blueprint for All was first put forward as part of their ongoing B Corporation journey. Certified B Corporations are businesses that are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. We are excited to be collaborating with Abel & Cole as they take this next step in enhancing their positive impact on the world.
