Job Title: Social Media Coordinator 

Reports to: Marketing and Comms Manager  

Salary/Hours: £23,000-£26,000 / 37.5 hours per week (full time) 

Location: Blueprint for All | Your Space, 39 Brookmill Rd, London, SE8 4HU

Purpose of this post: 

 Join us as a social media coordinator, create content that captures the imagination of those who know nothing about us, and the hearts and minds of those that already do to keep them engaged. Your work tells a story and amplifies the voice of underrepresented young people from ethnically diverse backgrounds in the UK. 

This person in this new role will naturally work closely with the Marketing and Comms Manager at Blueprint for All, as well as the Marketing and Comms Coordinator, offering a real opportunity to help shape how people see BFA and our work. There’s a huge amount of potential that needs someone who’ll pick up and carry on the conversations across social media, build relations with our programme participants, community groups and attract new partners and fundraisers to our cause. 

You’ll be part of a busy, close knit comms team that loves a good idea and telling powerful human stories that drive people to take action, whether that’s joining a Blueprint for All programme or event, making a donation or sharing their story. You’ll create video, animations, and graphics, but most of all, have a stack of ideas just waiting to be turned into great content. 

In this role, there’s scope to grow all areas of Blueprint for All’s social media, not least of all our video content and with particular focus on TikTok and Instagram in order to grow our young audience base.  

Responsibilities 

Social media content creation  

  • Producing a wide range of eye-catching and engaging digital content (video, images, graphics, copy) for social media to support our strategy to build brand awareness, share impact, attract new donors and partners, and recruit and engage new young people to interact with My Blueprint for All – our new careers hub we have just launched.  
  • Work with key stakeholders and internal teams to manage a consistent and constant content plan that is relevant for all our audience groups 
  • Work with programmes team to gather imagery and ideas to create content for social channels  
  • Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager to plan and deliver a content calendar across all social media and digital channels and keeping an update editorial calendar.  
  • Developing a series of on-brand written and visual templates for social media and digital use. 
  • Attending schools programmes and community events to and meeting to capture audio and visual content for social media use. 
  • Shaping, developing and transforming Blueprint for All’s approach to producing video content, with support from the team and training. 
  • Managing BFA’s organic social media activity on a daily basis, engaging and responding to comments and posts to build engagement and conversation across BFA’s social media channels. 
  • Keep up to date on new social media trends and adapt to suit using social listening and content creation platform Khoros to post content and keep an eye on trending topics 
  • Creating weekly social-media reports that help the charity make informed decisions that help them meet their strategic themes.  

Brand building 

  • Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager and Marketing & Communications Coordinator to pro-actively seek conversations and topics we can and should be a part of and responding to comments and posts. 
  • Working closely with the wider communications team on campaigns, story gathering and building our real-life case studies portfolio. 
  • Maintaining a consistent tone of voice, personality and look and feel across all channels in line with BFA’s brand. 
  • Supporting the reporting of analytics and insights to shape the content plan and strategy to the communications team and wider BFA team. 

Person Specification  

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Excellent written skills, with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to write and communicate key findings from quantitative and qualitative data analysis in a clear and compelling manner to a range of audiences 
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to establish a rapport and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders 
  • A strong creative streak with the ability to tell engaging stories to a wide variety of audiences with different needs and motivations. 
  • An understanding of the different digital communications channels and platforms, and the role of segmentation in communications. 
  • Some knowledge and understanding of digital marketing and current digital and social media trends. 
  • Good at managing your time and able to juggle a variety of projects with shifting priorities. 

Attitudes  

  • You care about working towards a fairer society and the role of communications in achieving that. 
  • A go getter who is comfortable trying, potentially failing, but learning from experience. 
  • Happy to appear in front of the camera in social media content desirable, but not essential. 
  • Happy to take on a hands-on approach to working within a small communications team and working collaboratively with the wider Blueprint for All team. 

Experience  

  • Some experience of growing an organisation’s digital and social reach and engagement desirable. 
  • Some experience of evaluating analytics data.  
  • Must be a frequent user and lover of all thing’s social media, ideally Instagram and TikTok. 
  • Some experience with video editing is desirable, but not essential.
