Our #BeMoreInclusive initiative with recruitment partner, urban has been recognised at the Third Sector Business Charity Awards as the winner of best charity partnership in the professional services category.

Our initiative which helps combat the lack of diversity within the architecture industry has been commended for its “inspiring” and “thoughtful” work by the judges and was deemed “a fantastic example of a truly strategic partnership”.

The scheme bridges the gap between the alumni who take part in our Building Futures programme and employment within the architecture industry. When urban places a Blueprint for All graduate it asks the hiring firm to donate rather than charging a fee. They also educate architecture professionals on the need to diversify and support young people with career advice and coaching.

“We are incredibly proud of our unique recruitment partnership with urban. But for it to be recognised at this level against stiff competition from giants like KPMG and Deloitte is overwhelming. It provides irrefutable evidence that diverse recruitment within the built environment is no longer an impossible dream with 27 young people helped into employment.” Sonia Watson, CEO, Blueprint for All.

“This serves to prove that no matter the size of your organisation, if you have the will and passion for positive change, you can genuinely make a difference, no matter how difficult the environment is in which you are operating. This accolade is one that I, personally, will cherish and use as a spur to continue innovating to maximise the impact we can have on improving diversity and inclusion in the architectural industry. This is just the beginning!” Mark Nagle, Operations Director, urban
